Interview Question in Stored Procedures

Interview Question :: Entry Level jobs with no experience

Pretty much I have a blank resume, and only two prior jobs one lasting 10 months in food services and the other about a month and a half at sporting good store. I need a job I literally applied everywhere, even to hotels offering to be a cleaning lady. No job still. I ace interviews well. I have taken a year course at my high school for medical and office procedures. I can do a receptionist or office job well if i just get a little bit of training.

Can I get any adivce on getting an office job with no work experience when that is all that is wanted. They make it almost impossible to get a job with no experience. I would do wonderful at it, but I am having trouble finding a chance.

Any tips on how to make a great resume for these jobs would be exellent. I will vote for best answer.

Register for temporary work at a couple of good agencies.

Many companies use temp firms to source administrative help, then they hire them on as permanent employees at the end of the contract if they like what they've seen. This gives you a chance to scope out companies as well - if you don't like the place, you just get another assignment ... test the waters as a temporary employee.

Here is my advice & it worked for me! Think of a job that you could be passionate and driven about regardless of experience. For instance, let's say you enjoy music and would love to work for a big record label like Sony or Epic. Well, apply for a receptionist job. If you are smart, work hard and stay late when you have to it will impress upper management. You will give your self a great reputation from the get go and when you work for big companies...they always have openings. Just check with the HR Department and let your supervisor know that you love the company and would like to commit and dedicate a career in that company and are interested in advancement. You'll probably get moved up in 6 months after being a receptionist and from there every couple years keep growing and moving forward. Unlike taking an entry level job in the mailroom, everyone talks to and knows the receptionist. It's great way to learn about other people and what they do in their positions and get your face seen and voice heard. Also, if it is hard to find a job as a receptionist with no experience maybe you have a family member or family friend that owns their own business that can hire you short term to teach you the ropes. I used my Dad's business on my first resume even though I didn't really work for him. I just answered the phones sometimes and did light filing. Good luck!
