Interview Question in SQL Server Certifications

Interview Question :: Urgent question about IT Career

have been debating myself on how & where to start?
I am 49 years old and I need to start where I can get a job
quickly. I check Linux/Unix well they all require 4 to 6 years of experience in order to consider you. Meaning if I learn linux nobody will hire me. I look at SQL Server DBa same thing , even if I get a certifications my chances at 49 without any experience are slim to get into that field. I was thinking about ASP.NET and the Web Development in general. What do you guys will recommend me to at least get my feet into the field?? After that I will learn more but I need to get in. Thanks for your recommendations guys.

I am a consultant, that does more then Coding in .NET you should check into a consulting firm, they offer the best chance for you to get the door. That has been my experience anyway.

I suggest that you start with Computer Networking. You can take a Certificate course in Cisco or Novell and obtain an appropriate status and get a fine job all within one year. One of such status can be Network Administrator for start. Then you can move on to Windows Server 2003 Administrator and so forth. What a way to go! Start today.

I would recommed to get certificate for Microsoft dynamics NAV 5. There is strong demand for this product. There are four exams for certification. Also you can talk with consultant, they will tell you more about which field is growing. There is also demand for Cisco . (CCNA, CISSP etc...). Strong understanding of these product will atleast get you consulting job.

Web development is good, but most of the work is oursourced, so it will be difficult to find job in this area without experiance.
