Interview Question :: Which Certifications in Computer, IT, DBA, or programming will lead to the most job opportunities

What skills are in the most demand or in emerging demand?

There are so many certifications available, I really don't know which to choose.

I'm interested in advancing my career through certification in computer skills, but I'm not sure which certifications will lead to the best opportunities. I have a broad general interest in all aspects of computer science...I've thought about being a programmer, but right now I'm leaning more towards DBA, or DB programmer.

So which skills are most marketable?

There's a course available in my area soon on Microsoft SQL Server. Is that a good choice?

Which certifications are most likely to lead to employment opportunities?

Any answers from people knowledgable about the field, or those who have gotten certifications themselves, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, Pursue a DBA certification is good. There are lot of certifications in IT which helps to improve accordingly.Here you have a interest in DBA and you can go for it.There are lot of opportunities now available for the same.Either u can be a oracle or microsft certified here.!! I am intrested in networking and i got a CCNA recently. Also now am concentarting on Microsoft technologies. MCP Exchange server and windows server 2003. All the best and go for the microsft certification. Soon we can see your name in signature as Your name, DBA All the very best!!!

CompTIA has a wide selection Cisco and Microsoft Certifications will get you to the top of the game Start of with the CompTIA A+. thats where all great IT Pro's start off, ita about $300 to do the tests (2 of them) and the book/study maetrial is about $30
