Interview Question :: Which Programming Language is the most Popular and Used amongst these 5 languages-cSharp,Python,VB,Ruby and Ada


I have just joined a Computer Course and have learned PLT,C#,VC#,T-SQL..this is a 3 years course and I will get to learn Java,JDBC,UML,XML,Data Structures,VB.NET,ASP.NET etc. and I just wanted to know out of curiosity Which Programming Language is the most Popular and Used amongst these 5 languages-C#,Python,VB.NET,Ruby and Ada and have a great potential to be used by maximum number of people in future as well.Please tell me which language amongst these 5 is the most popular and used and you get maximum career offers as well as rate these languages from 1 to 5 so that I know which language to learn later and which to pursue and master right now..

According to Linux Journal, Java is #1, with VB a close second when we speak of legacy code. If your goal is to maintain code, you would know java 1.8 through java6 and you would know VB 2.1 all the way up to VBA. Maintenace is the hacker's lunchpail job.



Out of the technologies you list: none of the above. Computers evolve so fast, unless your boss pays for your training, you can't keep up the curve.



My highest contract rate involves language and hardware that wasn't updated because all those type of systems do is track money.

It depends a lot on which kind of application they are being used for but I would guess that it's in approximately this order: C#, Ruby, Python, VB, Ada.

C, C#, C++ are the big ones, learn as much C language as you can.
